Portrait Painting Workshop

Thursday - Sunday 10am-4pm

This four-day intensive workshop will give participants the opportunity to expand their knowledge and experience rendering a human portrait, from life, in oil paint.

This workshop will introduce sound academic techniques including the sight size method. Participants will work from a live model, holding a single pose throughout, and will have the opportunity to obtain a fully finished and accurate representation within the range of their experience and ability.

Lectures and demonstrations will be given each day focusing on better understanding the construction of the human head. The sight size method and the limited palette will be introduced. Stages of the painting process will be explained and practiced.
